Exploring the Future of Healthcare Through Artificial Intelligence

As Artificial Intelligence continues to transform healthcare, understanding its responsible and meaningful application has become essential for the next generation of healthcare professionals.

As part of the "AI in Healthcare: Exploring the Intelligence. Advancing the Care." programme, the Student Research Council (SRC), Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), SHARE INDIA, hosted an inspiring guest lecture by Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, Director – Surgical Oncology, Yashoda Cancer Institute, and Founder & CEO, Grace Cancer Foundation.

Drawing on his extensive experience in surgical oncology, Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli shared valuable insights into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. Through real-world clinical examples, he illustrated how AI is transforming precision oncology, robotic surgery, clinical decision-making, and personalized patient care, while emphasizing the importance of balancing technological innovation with clinical judgment. A key takeaway from the session was his thought-provoking message: "Healthcare professionals should be AI pilots, not AI passengers."

The lecture concluded with presenting copies of his book, 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 inspiring students to pursue careers defined not only by professional excellence but also by purpose, compassion, innovation, and leadership.
