Medical & Cancer Screening Camps

Overview

SHARE INDIA and the Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences, in collaboration with Grace Cancer Foundation (GCF), organized three comprehensive medical camps in the Medchal-Malkajgiri District in 2025 as part of their on-going commitment to strengthening community health initiatives. 

Grace Cancer Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to comprehensive cancer care in India, partnered in this initiative to support efforts in cancer awareness, early detection, and preventive services. 

The camps were designed to promote preventive healthcare and early cancer detection by bringing screening and medical services directly to rural communities. Through this collaborative initiative, a wide range of free screening services and health consultations were provided to participants across three villages.

Overview of Three Camps

Villages Covered in Medchal Malkajgiri District – Muduchinthalapally, Lingapur and Railapur

Total Participants: 430

⁠Key Findings:

  • ⁠⁠7 abnormalities detected via mammogram.
  • ⁠5 abnormalities detected via Pap smear.
  • ⁠52 refractive errors detected via eye check-ups.
  • ⁠41 recommended for cataract surgery to restore vision.

Our Operational Strategy

Our medical camps demonstrated progressive strengthening in community engagement, operational coordination, and service delivery, with each camp building upon the experience of the previous one.

Pre - Camp

Comprehensive door-to-door awareness campaigns and household pamphlet distribution ensured maximum reach, while active team involvement, support from Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), and engagement of local leaders significantly enhanced community trust and participation.

Post - Camp

A structured post-camp system ensured continuity of care. Screening reports were shared digitally via WhatsApp by Grace Cancer Foundation (GCF), alongside direct report distribution and counseling by the SHARE INDIA team. 

Referrals to higher centers were systematically coordinated, with active follow-up to support compliance and continued care.

This integrated approach resulted in increased beneficiary turnout, strengthened referral linkages, and improved coordination across camps.
