Advancing Cervical Cancer Elimination Through Community-Led Innovation

SHARE INDIA Research Presented at ASCO 2026 Annual Meeting in Chicago

We are proud to share that our research, titled "Implementation Science Insights from a Community-Embedded Cervical Cancer Screening Program Integrating High-Risk Human Papillomavirus DNA Testing with Non-Communicable Disease Screening in Rural South India," was presented by Dr. Shailendra D. at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, as part of the Clinical Science Symposium.

Our model demonstrated the effectiveness of a community health volunteer-led intervention designed to improve cervical cancer screening participation in low-resource settings. By addressing the four A's of healthcare — Awareness, Availability, Accessibility, and Affordability — the program achieved over 90% screening and treatment completion rates, far exceeding the national average of 2%. The study demonstrated the feasibility of achieving the WHO's cervical cancer elimination targets of 90-70-90 through a comprehensive, family-centric, community health volunteer-led screening model.
