Genesis of SHARE INDIA

An idea born of humane thought by eminent non-resident Indian medical professionals grew into SHARE INDIA and SHARE Medical Care in the year 1981 in Telangana. Our founders have selflessly served the community with their vast expertise and ensured access to health care to every individual in the community.

The Society for Health Allied Research and Education (SHARE) INDIA is a not-for-profit research organization established in the year 1986 under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Areas) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 Fasli. It is recognized as a Scientific Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Donations are tax-exempt under section 35(1)(ii) of the Income Tax Act.

SHARE INDIA has built strategic relationships in India with the Government, private health care providers, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and premier educational Institutions. SHARE INDIA has long-standing ongoing collaborations with several leading academic medical centers in the USA, including the University of Pittsburgh, University of Illinois at Chicago and University of Chicago. It has made several presentations in International Conferences as well as publishing peer-reviewed papers.

The SHARE INDIA ideology encompasses quality in models of healthcare delivery systems and advanced medical care that is affordable and accountable. The organization’s core strength is utilization of technology, social and cultural tools for building human resources for health, institutional capacity building, research, and training in the public health arena. We envisage improving not just health but the quality of life through health interventions and related activities embodied in a One Health concept. The Infectious diseases program at SHARE INDIA launched in 1994 has been anchored in a deep commitment to serving the needs of India and adopting Global Standards.
